Prayin' in the Middle of the Bridge
Chorus 1
Prayin’ in the middle of the bridge,
Prayin’ in the middle of the bridge,
Feelin’ sweet angel kisses on my lips and nose,
Pine needles dancin’ on their tippy toes,
Prayin’ in the middle of the bridge.
Standin’ on that bridge, I look behind
And the mem’ries flow, as they fill my mind
All the laughter, sadness, joys and tears,
Each a piece that I hold dear.
Chorus 2
Prayin’ in the middle of the bridge,
Prayin’ in the middle of the bridge,
The water sings its joyful hymn,
The wind it whispers it soft Amen,
Prayin’ in the middle of the bridge.
Standin’ on that bridge, how’d I end up here?
Take a deep long breath, feel you presence near,
Now I hear that still small voice,
Know it’s time to make a choice.
Repeat Chorus 1
Standin’ on that bridge, I cannot see,
What lies ahead, what’s in store for me,
But I’ll trust in God, to lead the way,
And with faith, I’ll face each day.
The wind it whispers it’s soft, Amen.
Repeat Chorus 2
The wind it whispers it’s soft, Amen.

Weary Trav'ler
Sit by the fire,
Relax, refresh,
Your body, mind, and soul.
We’ll settle in.
Tune out the world.
Fellowship our only goal.
Chorus
Oh weary trav’ler, walking on
There’s light in yonder window.
Oh weary trav’ler woes-be-gone
Inside is love and warmth.
We’ll stay up late.
We’ll laugh and cry.
Our journeys we will share.
Our stories long.
Our time too short.
Such moments are so rare.
Repeat Chorus
When next day comes,
We’ll travel on,
And realize how blessed
We are to be,
Right where we are,
But now it’s time to rest.
Repeat Chorus

Let Him In
Chorus
Praise God (Praise God)
For knocking on the door.
Praise God (Praise God)
For sending us the Lord.
Praise God (Praise God)
For knocking on the door.
Don’t you think it’s time to let him in?
So many times we turn away.
So many times we forget to pray.
So let’s make a change, let’s start today.
Don’t you think it’s time to let him in?
Repeat Chorus
Talk with the Lord, he’ll understand.
Walk with the Lord, he’ll take your hand,
Remember who’s footprints those were in the sand.
Don’t you think it’s time we let him in?
Repeat Chorus
On that special day, He claimed me as his own,
He promised he’d always be my chaperone.
From that moment on I’ve never been alone.
I’m so glad I finally let him in.
Modified Chorus (last line only)
I’m so glad I finally let him in.

In the Garden
I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses
And the voice I hear, falling on my ear
The Son of God discloses.
Chorus
And he walks with me
And he talks with me
And he tells me I am his own
And the joy we share as we tarry there
None other has ever known.
He speaks and the sound of his voice
Is so sweet the birds hush their singing
And the melody that He gave to me
Within my heart is ringing.
Repeat Chorus
I’d stay in the garden with him
Tho’ the night around me be dawning
But He bids me go, through the voice of woe
His voice to me is calling.
Repeat Chorus

Winter Signs (Autumn's Lullaby)
The road beneath my feet
Winds on before and aft.
The breeze meanders through the trees
With winter’s little laugh.
Chorus
The signs there are upon us
And the winter soon will come.
Daylight trades it’s time with darkness.
One more trip around the sun.
In the air a potpourri
Sweet and strong, clean and fresh.
Stirring of pine and leaves and earth
Hold autumn’s final breath.
Repeat Chorus
The trees have shed their leaves
Now they shiver in the cold.
Soon they will cradle fallen snow,
As winter’s touch takes hold.
Repeat Chorus
And we’re thankful for another year,
A new season has begun.

If We Try
(Written with the Sunday School Classes
at Trinity United Church of Christ, Rome, NY)
If we try, we can make this world a better place.
If we try, we can make heaven on earth.
If we try, we can make this world a better place.
If we try, if we try, you and I.
Share our love, lend a hand and help to build a home.
Share our love, give a big hug and a smile.
Share our love, buy a blanket to keep people warm.
Share our love, share our love, you and I.
Share our time, visit the sick and share our joy with them.
Share our time, serve the hungry show we care.
Share our time, sing a song to a friend who’s feeling sad.
Share our time, share our time, you and I.
Share the Word, through the talents and the gifts we’re given.
Share the Word, share the Good News that we’ve heard.
Share the Word, tell of Jesus and his endless love.
Share the Word, share the Word, you and I.
Let your light shine.
Let it shine.
If we try, we can make this world a better place.
If we try, we can make heaven on earth.
If we try, we can make this world a better place.
If we try, if we try, you and I.

Sagamore Spirits
Sagamore spirits sashay on the shore
As we share our stories in song,
Lending light to the longing, that lingers within,
Blending beautiful blessings.
Magical, mystical, marvelous place.
Great Camp Sagamore, Great Camp Sagamore.
We sat ‘round the table that October day,
A circle of wisdom and trust,
Each at our own place on the journey of life,
Yet in this space we were one.
Magical, mystical, marvelous place.
Great Camp Sagamore, Great Camp Sagamore.
So different were we, in so many ways
Yet love of the word and the tune,
Brought us together to listen and share,
United as writers of song.
Magical, mystical, marvelous place.
Great Camp Sagamore, Great Camp Sagamore.
Signs of strength were around us in wood stone and iron,
A visible tangible power,
Greater than those was the love that was shown,
As we each shared a piece of our heart
Magical, mystical, marvelous place.
Great Camp Sagamore, Great Camp Sagamore.
Sagamore spirits sashay on the shore

Mary
Miracles surrounding, angels resounding,
Just a humble peasant girl.
Trusting God’s promise, bringing life to us,
Just a humble peasant girl.
Clothing, feeding, gently leading,
Just a mother and her child.
Memories to treasure, love beyond measure,
Just a humble peasant girl.
Wonder, sorrow, hope for tomorrow.
Blessed Mother of The Son.
Manger to cross, faith never lost,
Blessed Mother of The Son.
Just a humble peasant girl.
Just a mother and her child.
Blessed Mother of The Son.

Hold On
(Response to Hurricane Katrina)
Hold on to faith.
Hold on to hope.
Hold on to love.
Hold on.
Give your trust to God.
He will give you strength.
You need not pray alone.
Keep faith.
The losses are so great,
But better days will come.
You need not walk alone.
Have hope.
In your time of need,
Many want to help.
You need not be alone.
Feel love.
Hold on to faith.
Hold on to hope.
Hold on to love.
Hold on.

You'll Never Know
You’ll never know, till you walk in another soul’s shoes,
Why they act, say and do what they do.
You’ll never know, till you walk in another soul’s shoes,
Why they act, say and do what they do.
You’ll never know, till you walk in another soul’s shoes,
The pain they’ve born, grief and sorrow they’ve seen.
You’ll never know, till you walk in another soul’s shoes,
The pain they’ve born, grief and sorrow they’ve seen.
Chorus
So do not judge, leave that to God.
Take the hand of your fellow man.
So do not judge, leave that to God.
And live by the Great Command.
You’ll never know, till you walk in another soul’s shoes,
Their joys and dreams, blessings and gifts and they possess.
You’ll never know, till you walk in another soul’s shoes,
Their joys and dreams, blessings and gifts they possess.
Repeat Chorus

John and Martha
(to the tune of Amazing Grace)
Their love was young
In their Golden Years,
They touched each other’s soul.
They laughed, they cried,
They smooched, they sighed,
Together, they prayed and praised.
They shared their wisdom
Wednesday nights,
Their lessons much more than words.
Their faith shone bright,
And lit the path
They wanted us to know.
The last few months
They were kept apart,
By earthly time and space.
Their love was not
Just of this earth,
And now they have gone home.
We will shed tears.
We will miss them.
But we are all so blessed,
They crossed our path,
They shared their love,
We are forever changed.
Amazing Grace how sweet the sound,
Was blind but now I see.

Dancing Clouds
(for John)
Gliding on the water
In the green canoe,
We watch the dancing clouds go by
In the Colorado blue.
Their shadow partners dance
In the placid lake below,
Playing hide and seek with fish
As they dart to and fro.
Chorus
We watch the dancing clouds go by
In the Colorado blue,
My heart and soul can’t help but smile,
I love spending time with you.
Abundant sunshine holds us
In it’s warm embrace,
We paddle ‘round the corner to see
The mountain called Whiteface.
Back on shore we relax
In Adirondack chairs,
Reflecting on the days events
I whisper a thank you prayer.
Repeat Chorus
Modified Chorus (last time)

Today “Just You and I”.
